Privacy Policy

Subtext is built around one promise: read once, then gone. We analyze the conversation you share and we do not store it.

What the app processes

• Chat screenshots or imported chat text you explicitly select. They are sent over an encrypted connection to our analysis server, passed to an AI model to produce your report, and are not saved by us. We keep no copies, build no profiles, and never use your conversations to train models.
• Evidence quotes ("The numbers" section) are computed locally on your device from the imported chat and stay on your device.
• Your reports (scores, flags, summaries) are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

What we collect

• A random install identifier — a UUID created on first launch, sent with requests solely for abuse prevention (rate limiting). It is not linked to your identity and resets if you reinstall the app.

That's it. No accounts, no ads, no analytics SDKs, no tracking across apps.

Third parties

• AI processing: analysis requests are routed through OpenRouter to the model provider (Anthropic). Content is processed to serve your request and is subject to their retention safeguards; it is not used to train their models.
• Apple handles all payments and subscriptions. We never see your payment details.

Your choices

• Everything you share is opt-in — the app analyzes only what you select or paste.
• To remove all local data, delete the app.

Subtext is not directed at children under 13 and is rated 12+.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
